Wednesday Fall Noon Lecture Series Wed., Sept. 22: An Afternoon with Rodgers and Hart and Friends -- Stu Johnson Keeping us in the swing of things, our jazz guru will take us back a few years and give our regards to Broadway. Wed., Sept. 29: Ann Arbor Songs -- Dianne Baker The Director will give an account of the musical produced for Ann Arbor’s Sesquicentennial, entitled "This is the Town that Was," from its grand opening to its final performance at Hill. Wed., Oct. 6: I'm Still Here -- James Berton Harris Researching for his book about the small theaters of Michigan, this retired U. of Illinois professor of drama shares what he has learned about two or three of the survivors. Wed., Oct. 13: The Role of the South in American Politics -- Rob Mickey This U of M professor from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policywill talk about present day politics. Wed., Oct. 20: Dr. Chase as Publisher: an Emerging World of Midwestern Literature -- Ed Surovell This local realtor and history buff will tell how in 1863 Ann Arbor’s Dr. A.W. Chase, author of the famous “Dr. Chase’s Recipes,” created what he claimed was the midwest’s largest printing house. That business contributed to this area’s growing place in American publishing. Wed., Oct. 27: A Quarter Century of Shooting Michigan Football and Basketball -- Per Kjeldsen Including the transition from film to digital photography, Mr. K. will add some good tips on digital cameras learned on the job as U of M sports team photographer. Wed., Nov. 3: The History of the Yankee Air Museum -- Darlene Imus The museum archivist will tell us the dramatic story of the old museum's tragic loss, and the happy ending that she and other activists have brought about. Wed., Nov. 10: Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra…Strings on Fire -- Laura Dunbar The AASO Education and Outreach Director invites us to learn about the November Main Stage Concert featuring Bach, Grieg, and Dvorak. All lecture attendees will be given free tickets to "Strings on Fire"
