For our German Family Christmas in 2008 the Events Director Duffy Liddicoat arranged for Herr Schmidt's (aka Andrew Smith) German students to help us get the House ready for German Family Christmas. On Thursday, December 4th they frosted creatively the lebkuchen (spiced cut-out cookies made by Ina Hanel), stuck cloves in oranges, helped set up the tiny village and decorate the tree. The latter was donated yet again by Greg and Diane Boik of the Ann Arbor Farmers Market.
On January 9, 2009 Kempf House board members and guests had a lovely luncheon and tour of the antiques in the fabulous condo of Mr. Ron Fox. The food, which was served on antique plates, was catered by our own vice-president (and former caterer) Kjirsten Blander, shown smiling with the host.
On Saturday, December 13, 2009, the Sugar Plum Fairy, aka Allison Carron from the Ann Arbor Ballet Theater's upcoming production of the Nutcracker ballet), visited the Kempfs' music studio. She had her photo taken with many of our lucky guests.
